Note: The name of your currently installed chartset can be viewed in the top-left corner of the chart list by tapping the “two arrows in a circle” button within the Marine Navigator app.
Update Overview:
Updates from 2023 to 2024 are available by download only, regardless of whether the original chartset was received on DVD or USB.
Updates will only apply to the chart package originally installed on the device where it is currently active.
No re-registration is required.
Price: Free for purchasers of 2023 chart packages.
Clean Sweep Installation Method: This method is designed to prevent issues caused by duplicate charts. Re-registration is not required.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Identify your chartset: Launch Marine Navigator on your Android device and display the charts. Tap the chart list button (two arrows in a circle) and verify the chartset name matches one of the download options below.
Download the update: Download the appropriate update directly to your Android device. Ensure the file is fully downloaded and located in your device’s downloads folder. Do not import the update into Marine Navigator at this stage.

Update 1: vmhUK-IRL2023a: Download available Jan 2023 to mid-Jan 2024 (£9.99–£14.95). Bundled with Unified Charts UK/IRL 2023. Does not update 2022 purchases.

Remove existing chartset (optional for clean update):
Tap the chartlist button, then tap the blue folder of your installed chartset (for example, vmhUK-IRL2023a). Long-press the folder and select DELETE to remove the original chartset.Import the update:
In Marine Navigator, select IMPORT and locate the downloaded .zip file. Once import is complete, close Marine Navigator, power off the device, then restart. No re-activation is required.Verify installation:
Launch Marine Navigator. The chartlist progress bar will indicate charts are ready to use. Updated charts retain the same name and year as the original. 2024 charts use .png extensions; 2023 charts use .tif extensions. Small-scale overview charts may include grey hatched areas indicating “Omission of Detai”.
