At Visit My Harbour , we are always looking for ways to make things more 'Plug and Play' for our customers. So we've modified our Unified Chart packages, (download and USB versions) to include a built-in instant display system for the charts in Windows.
When you have activated the chartset and/or run 'RunMe' to unlock them, a built-in portable version of OpenCPN will start (this takes about 20 seconds). You will be looking at your charts within a minute of starting.
It has been pre setup for image quality and chart directories. You can make routes, waypoints, etc straight away and save locally.
IMPORTANT: Because the program is running from a CD type drive, any changes made within it (like adding a GPS) will not be remembered the next time you use it.
For realtime use at sea
- Install the Nav program locally on your machine
- Set it up with the unlocked charts.
- Once installed, close the built-in demo program and use your own on start-up
To update an existing, working 2024 .iso version
- Re-download the .iso image
- Replace your existing .iso with the new one
- No unlock code is needed
