In which we get a history lesson on the Navy’s drubbing
at the hands of an extremely cheeky Dutch Fleet. The Dutch Fleet
was commanded by de Ruyter and, guided up the Medway by turncoat
Britts who knew the waters, spent two days laying waste the
ship’s found at anchor off Upton Fort while the ill
trained gunners there spent the two days missing them and managing
to sink a total of nil. The Dutch departed with the English Flag
Ship, the Royal Charles, and still hold her transom and display it
as a prize. We then see examples of the old ships restored or
being restored in the Medway by enthusiasts including an old
Russian diesel submarine, the Dartmouth paddle steamer Kingswear
Castle, and the old Puffer Vic 56 built by the navy during WWII to
the design of that proven workhorse, the Clyde Puffer (much loved
by Para Handy fans)
