This is a mixed video of exploration and historical background. We are shown the Backwater on Google Earth much of which has been captured at low water and, like us here at VMH, Dylan rejoices that he can see where the channels are on it. We are shown the diversified means used by Dutch engineers to hold back the sea water and claim the land for agriculture and they are given full credit for that transformation. The affinity the Dutch feel for these waters is mentioned and we see some lovely classic Dutch gaff riggers, comparing their lines with the Thames Barges of our own rivers. We also learn of the trade between the fields of East Anglia and London and muse on what London sends back to them. Finally we are shown the location of some quays which Dylan intends exploring in future videos; Kirby Quay, Beaumont Quay and Oakley Creek.
