This information crammed video explores the Deben from
Prettyman’s Point to Woodbridge taking in The Rocks,
Waldringfield and Martlesham Creek.
Dylan wanders this reach for two or three days; we see and admire
too many classes of boat to enumerate but good coverage is given to
the Dragonflies and Wayfarers at Waldringfield (some lovely roll
tacking).
The extraction of phosphates from fossil dinosaur dung is explained
as is its loss as a business to imported guano. We find out about
hibernating mullet and how Loaders Cut got its name; Dylan is
amused by the rocks at “The Rocks” (they are
not really what one would describe as “rocks”).
There are interesting interviews with Andy Seedhouse in his
boatyard and with Geoff Sinton in his 100 year old
“temporary” shiplap-built shed at the
Woodbridge Boatyard.
Dylan trials Geoff’s small dinghy and admires it, but not
its price
